Abstract

This NANSLO lab activity is self-contained and can be used as a histology lab activity in biology, anatomy and physiology, and pathophysiology courses. In this activity, prepared slides of muscle tissue are examined and compared to identify characteristics specific to that tissue. The lab activity includes background information on histology itself, discusses the composition of muscle tissue, its properties, and neural signals and their interaction with muscles. It also includes pre-lab questions, lab exercises, and summary questions.
