Abstract

This program, approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), provides the instruction and on-the-job training required to become certified and find employment as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in Missouri. The program teaches basic nursing skills, resident rights, safety, communication techniques and infection control. CNAs are eligible for employment in nursing homes, hospitals, home care, and doctor_s offices. There are three components to the CNA Program: classroom, clinical internship, and final exam. Students must complete all three components in order to be certified. Most students average 4-5 months to complete the entire program.
