Abstract
This four-module, face-to-face course combines presentations, reading and writing assignments, tutorial videos, and classroom/lab activities to introduce students to the fundamentals of CAD/CAM technology as it applies to the orthotics and prosthetics industry. Students will gain an understanding of CAD/CAM history and key developers as well as CAD/CAM companies and systems. Students will access tutorial videos that feature The Ohio Willow Wood Company CAD technology and will perform shape capture, modification, and fabrication tasks using its OMEGA® 2013 CAD software system. Major emphasis is placed on the user interface, work space, and workflow tools available within the software system.
