Abstract
This class meets twice a week for a total of 6 hours. Lecture ranges anywhere from 20-30 min. Hands on demonstrations will be given on machine set-up and operations, prior to students performing the work. The remainder of the time is used for students to work on assigned projects in the lab.
This course is designed to introduce students to the field of Machining. Students will learn how to operate pedestal grinders, drill presses, band saw, manual lathes and milling machines. Upon completion of this course students will be able to read blueprints and operate common machinery found in the machine shop environment and be able to produce parts to required specifications.
