Abstract

This course examines the Open system interconnection (OSI) and the content, function and purpose of each of those layers. It examines data standards,, data elements, data structures and controlled vocabularies. Selection and development of EHR systems will be examined. Privacy and security with authentiction, authorization and accounting will be included System elements that include server hardware, application software, access and storage. Trouble shooting and maintaining support structures, along with escalation procedures and measuring system performance.
