Abstract
The Manufacturing Technology Career Studies Certificate (CSC) is an 8-week program of three courses designed to prepare graduates for certification as a Manufacturing Technician, MT1. This certification of the Manufacturing Skills Institute is endorsed by the National Association of Manufacturers and recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor as an industry recognized credential. The certification has three sections, Math and Measurement; Spatial Reasoning and Manufacturing Technology; and, Quality and Business Acumen. The program combines faculty-led classroom instruction and an Online Learning LabTM. The Manufacturing Technology CSC also prepares students to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) often utilized by industry as a screening tool for job applicants. The Manufacturing Technology CSC is recommended for exiting military and veterans who are seeking a career in advanced manufacturing and is one option in the Advanced Integrated Manufacturing program at Thomas Nelson.
