Abstract
PC Software is a study of Windows operating systems, Apple OS, Linux, Security & Mobile devices, as well as troubleshooting theory and application. This course consists of seven (7) units of twenty-seven (27) lessons plus a Capstone Unit comprising of Simulated exercises and a Final assessment. Each Module is rich in resources for expanded learning and includes a variety of simulations and assessements as discussed above. Corresponding lab activities and written homework assignments can be accessed from the original NSC PC Software course NSC section of SkillsCommons. Software objectives include installation and maintenance of Windows operating systems; use of virtual machines and Linux OS; implementation of security features on microcomputer systems and mobile devices; installation and configuration of PC operating systems; and configuration and troubleshooting techniques for mobile operating systems Android and Apple iOS. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to self-assess and prepare to take the CompTIA A+ 220-901 certification exam.
