Abstract

This course provides the 65 hours of classroom instruction required for certification as a Missouri Certified Medication Technician in an Intermediate Care or Skilled Nursing Facility. The student will acquire the knowledge, skills and techniques required for safe administration of non-parenteral medications utilizing classroom and laboratory instruction. An additional 24 hours of clinical experience is required. Clinical hours will be arranged by the student through their employer. Students must have at least six months of CNA experience and be currently employed in a Skilled LTC facility to complete the clinical hours. Upon successful completion of the classroom and clinical portions of the program the student is eligible to take the Missouri C.M.T. exam.
