Abstract

This course presents statistical techniques and methodology: graphical and tabular presentation of data, probability, parameters, statistical distributions, sampling, confidence intervals, and tests of hypotheses. Using the statistics that are given to make an important decision requires a knowledge of the questions that should be asked and the ability to recognize when things are wrong or misleading. Along with the mathematical formulas and calculations associated with statistics, this course will help the student develop an understanding of the language of statistics and its central concepts.
