Abstract

Syllabus: This course continues to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for competent performance of technical pharmacy tasks in institutional and ambulatory settings. Institutional pharmacy will be emphasized, especially sterile products preparation, pharmacy calculations, and unit dose drug distribution systems. Emphasis will also be on gaining competency (speed and accuracy) in filling ambulatory prescriptions. Extemporaneous compounding will be introduced with students completing basic compounding recipes. Students will develop skills by completing laboratory exercises. Lecture: 1 hour per week Lab: 2 hours per week
