Abstract
This three-term certificate program prepares learners to join the manufacturing workforce with the basic skills needed to create tooling and mechanical parts related to industrial mechanics, automotive machinist, heavy equipment repair, gunsmithing as well as any industry where subtractive manufacturing is used. In addition to technical training, students receive a solid education in mathematics, blueprint reading, proper tool selection for the lathe, mill, drill press and both vertical and horizontal band saw applications. This program can lead you directly into Rogue Community College’s Manufacturing Technology AAS degree program, where you will learn CNC operation and programming.
