The Connecticut Health & Life Sciences TAACCCT consortium engaged statewide and local employers to help shape and implement this grant. This included a review of proposed curricula and recommendations for program structure that reflects the Healthcare and Science sectors in the State of Connecticut. The consortium also engaged advisory boards at each member college to solicit input and recommendations for this initiative.

Abstract

This program prepares students for entry-level positions in the medical coding and billing industry. Completers will be able to work in a variety of medical environments and will be eligible to take the national exam to become a Professional Coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders.
