Abstract
The purpose of these multiple choice quizzes is to orient, quiz, and assess the student’s knowledge of precision measurement tools such as Micrometers, Dial Calipers, and Scales. These questions have been converted for use outside Second Life. Second Life is an online virtual world, developed by Linden Lab. The virtual world can be accessed freely via Linden Lab's own client programs, or via alternative Third Party Viewers. Second Life was chosen for this project because it allows students access to Project IMPACT "island" or virtual land to participate in activities that align with their classes. Examples of these activities include exploring potential jobs in related careers, interactive quizzes, lectures, workshops, study groups, and more. If you would like to obtain a copy of the build of the Second Life environment or answer key for the quizzes, please contact: Dan Davidchik, Project Manager, 402-562-1408, ddavidchik@cccneb.edu, or Sue Baer, Administrative Assistant, 402-562-1425, sbaer@cccneb.edu.
