Abstract

The following Work-Based Learning Guide was prepared by Thomas P. Miller & Associates (TPMA) and the Manufacturing Institute (MI) to serve as a resource for the Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce. Primarily intended for educators or intermediaries working with industry professionals and employers, the Guide provides an overview of the various levels of employer engagement, which can range from introductory student experiences to more intensive collaboration with educational partners and the workforce development system. Specific examples and best practices related to work-based learning are also provided.
