Abstract
This theory/lab course is designed to provide a foundation in digital electronic circuits, systems, applications, and logic control systems. Students will build, connect, troubleshoot, and control external digital circuits using the PIC microcontroller engineering platform. The C programming language will be introduced as the coding platform for the microcontroller, combining both the software and hardware components of digital into the course.
The lab component of this course is designed to reinforce theory by providing hands-on applications through a series of related lab hardware and programming projects. Electronic test and measurement equipment such as the digital storage oscilloscope, logic analyzer, wave-form generator, digital logic probe, digital multi-meter (DMM), variable DC power supply, and proto-board will be used throughout the course.
