Abstract

The course provides students with the opportunity while using simulation to demonstrate and perform skills commonly delegated to and within the scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) including collecting data and reporting patient responses relative to designated skills; skills include but are not limited to: utilization of the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members and patient/families to address health care needs of individuals/ families across the lifespan; communication both verbal and written; the use of information technology; drug calculation and administration of medications within the LPN scope of practice.
