Abstract

This course introduces students to the concepts of Phlebotomy. All aspects of Phlebotomy are addressed in this course including, but not limited to, venipuncture procedure, specimen processing and safety and compliance considerations. This course prepares each student to sit for the National Healthcareer Association Phlebotomy Technician Certification (NHA CPT) Exam. This credential allows each student to work as a nationally certified Phlebotomist for three years before renewal of the certification is required. The successful completion of this course along with 30 successful in-class venipunctures qualifies each student to sit for the exam.
