Abstract

Project completed (1)ATS-PI graduate certificate consisting of four interdisciplinary courses (Completed). See more details in the next section. (2)ATS-PI Student Innovation Fellowship (SIF) connected to the UIF program supporting eight students (Partially completed/modified) This deliverable was modified midway through the process in response to student experience and feedback. The Stanford fellowship program was converted to the S5 fellowship which permitted us to directly fund student involvement in graduate course development. (3)ATS-PI website (Partially completed) The website had to be completed in the two major phases. Phase one included the creation of the preliminary website on the old university platform. We are completing and have produced content for phase two, which will be the new site, on the updated university web platform. (4)3 ATS-PI storytelling podcasts (Completed) We completed two smart and sensible cities podcasts and one S5 podcast. (5)1 ATS-PI university forum discussion (Completed and extended to include commons discussions) We completed a major international forum on S5, transdisciplinarity, and socio-technical systems in March 2023. The forum consisted of two international and two US experts. We had attendees from around the world. (6)ATS-PI Affiliation program connected to the CSU TECH. Hub (Completed) Funding was used to support faculty affiliates of the CSU TECH Hub to assist in curriculum development, commons discussions, and grant writing. (7)One application for federal funding to connect ATS-PI to either the CSU Human-Machine Systems (CHMS) center or Case Human Fusions Institute (HFI) – (Completed and resulted in two separate federal funding awards). Two major federal funded awards: (1) NSF-NRT - designed as an interdisciplinary graduate program to train doctoral students and a (2) Department of Navel Research interdisciplinary grant to study the use of advanced technologies to transfer human touch to robots.
