Abstract
"This learning object, The MCCC Biomanufacturing Course / 1.14 Downstream Processing eLearning Modules SCORM LMS package, is an introduction to biopharmaceutical production and provides an overview of the biomanufacture of a monoclonal drug within a virtualized downstream processing environment. This educational tool utilizes text, illustrations, and video animations (e-learning) to detail the workflow, operations, and instrumentation involved in the batch production of a monoclonal antibody under cGMP conditions.
This object details a typical downstream production workflow for a monoclonal antibody and includes activities such as: bioreactor operations, harvest and clarification, multiple membrane filtration steps, a series of chromatography purifications, Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration, and bulk fill. Support materials include resources such as: text, illustrations, animations, interactive activities, and self-assessments. Once a participant has completed a review of the modules, self-assessments provide a means to check your knowledge.
This e-learning material was developed in part referencing the Introduction to Biomanufacturing textbook, Northeast Biomanufacturing Center and Collaborative, Published 2012. This SCORM is packaged as a zip file and is best accessed and viewed with a Learning Management System, LMS. It is associated with a READ ME (instructions) file on how to install and run the application, READ ME Instructions to Access the DSP SCORM.
This learning object is associated with additional learning content in biomanufacturing that is provided as separate, supplemental material:
a) The eleven lectures intended for use for instructing a biomanufacturing course, MCCC Biomanufacturing Course / 1.1 Introduction to Biomanufacturing to 1.11 Process Development.
b) The MCCC Biomanufacturing Course / 1.12 Montgomery County Community College Biomanufacturing Laboratory Manual 2nd Edition. This manual covers a variety of experiments relevant to biomanufacturing, is SOP driven, and includes batch record documentation.
c) The MCCC Biomanufacturing Course / 1.13 Downstream Processing eLearning html package. This educational tool utilizes text, figures, and video animations to detail the workflow, operations, and instrumentation involved in the batch production of a monoclonal antibody under cGMP conditions. This platform is suitable to access and view with a web-based browser, such as Google Chrome, Firefox, and Windows Explorer.
