Abstract
This resource includes an overview and curriculum documentation of St. Louis Community College’s MoWINs Portal program of study. The Portal offers students an accelerated on-ramp to college and career through a variety of educational services and learning opportunities. The program offers students a variety of educational services and learning opportunities, all designed to jump start adults into a STEM or healthcare career pathway leading to an academic credential and employment. The majority of the program is competency-based, self-paced and technology-enabled. Learning opportunities and services of the MoWINs Portal include: comprehensive assessment, development of an individualized career blueprint, career readiness including soft skills and work ethics training, Adult Learning Academy to refresh basic academics, Digital Literacy, National Career Readiness Certificate, alignment with the National Network of Business and Industry Associations’ Common Employability Skills, and the proactive, wrap around services of a career pathway coach. The full curriculum for the Adult Learning Academy is uploaded under MoWINs Portal - Adult Learning Academy - Integrated Reading and Writing, MoWINs Portal - Adult Learning Academy - Pre-Algebra, and MoWINs Portal - Adult Learning Academy - Elementary Algebra.
