Abstract
"The SLCC Manufacturing Overview Workshop will be an intense weeklong introduction to state of the art manufacturing. Students will use 3D modeling tools to design an autonomous vehicle (device prototype). They will then learn about and construct an electronic control system that will allow the vehicle to seek a light source. On the third day, they will learn to use Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) tools to create the parts for their vehicle. They will manufacture and assemble their vehicles and finally a contest will be held to determine which design can find the light source in the minimum time. Each student will write a final report and reflection piece on the experience.Schedule of Events
