Abstract

CAT 231 - Patient Care and Assessment for CT This course is designed to provide the basic concepts of patient care in CT, including consideration for the physical and psychological needs of the patient and family. Routine and emergency patient care procedures are described, as well as infection control procedures using standard precautions. The role of the radiographer in CT patient education is identified. Critical thinking and cultural competence is emphasized. Course Outcomes: Describe Computed Tomography practice standards. Provide appropriate patient care to to Computed Tomography patients. Evaluate and assess Computed Tomography patients.
