Industry Partner
Vermeer Corporation: We have conducted multiple Industry tours with Vermeer, both with and without students. Vermeer sends industry representatives to our campus each term. They have committed to attending every event that we have had on campus that relates to advanced manufacturing. They attend our career fair each year, as well as, Advanced Manufacturing Day. Several Vermeer employees serve on our Welding Advisory Committee, including Dave Landon, President of the American Welding Society. Vermeer has helped us develop new welding curriculum and provided training to our faculty. They allow us to learn from their welding operation and provide a great deal of feedback to our faculty and welding program. Vermeer was helpful during the Accredited Testing Facility process and they help certify our students in our ATF.
John Deere Ottumwa Works: John Deere Ottumwa Works has allowed us to do two industry tours and they attended Advanced Manufacturing Day this year. John Deere Ottumwa Works sends a representative to speak to our students approximately once a year, and they serve on our Welding Advisory Committee.
