The Connecticut Health & Life Sciences TAACCCT consortium engaged statewide and local employers to help shape and implement this grant. This included a review of proposed curricula and recommendations for program structure that reflects the Healthcare and Science sectors in the State of Connecticut. The consortium also engaged advisory boards at each member college to solicit input and recommendations for this initiative.

Abstract
This A.S. degree program prepares students for careers in medical assisting in physicians' offices, hospitals, hospice care, laboratories, ambulatory care centers, and other health care-related facilities. Course requirements are sequenced to begin with essential skills before moving on to complex laboratory, clinical and administrative skills. The program of study culminates in an externship in a clinical setting.
