Abstract

This learning object covers measurements and units, providing an introduction to the base units in both the metric and SI system, as well as how to identify the relationships between different units of measurements (referred to as equalities). The use of dimensional analysis for converting between different units of measurement is introduced with worked examples. This object also highlights the importance of measurement in real-world applications, emphasizing the most common measurements made in the laboratory and the different measurement tools used to perform accurate measurement. This learning object is part 2 of 17 parts that comprise this Introductory Chemistry Course.
