Abstract

Provides an overview of robotic and automated systems technology. Students will be introduced to basic manufacturing techniques, robot terminology, differing types of automation, safety, basic robotic programming, interfacing robotic communications, automated work cells, and robotic applications. Robot operations and programming fundamentals will be applied by the students. Safety is emphasized throughout, highlighting operator and robot safety, lockout/tagout and safety interlocks.
