Abstract

NECC revised its academic ESL curriculum in 2014 to better support students and help the transition to college-level coursework. The original grammar and writing courses were combined into an integrated format, and reading and listening/speaking were strengthened. The lowest level was eliminated but students are referred to a non-credit Basic ESL course offered by NECC's Adult Basic Education program, or to community partners
