An Industry Advisory Panel was established to develop the Laboratory Technology program and courses. The panel consisted of representatives from a variety of industries, including agriculture, consumer protection, environmental protection, food processing, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. Advisory Panel members contributed to the design, development and delivery of the courses developed through this TAACCCT grant. The members also provide opportunities for work-based learning and job placements for program graduates.

Abstract
This course focuses on the principles of laboratory work when applied to food processing, food ingredients such as additives and minerals, food flavoring, and food safety. Topics such as HACCP, food modifications, and enzymes are also covered. Students will use equipment to do relevant lab experiments. Please note that all course materials and content are provided in the IMS Common Cartridge (IMSCC) format.
