The Connecticut Health & Life Sciences TAACCCT consortium engaged statewide and local employers to help shape and implement this grant. This included a review of proposed curricula and recommendations for program structure that reflects the health care and Science sectors in the State of Connecticut. The consortium also engaged advisory boards at each member college to solicit input and recommendations for this initiative.

Abstract

This program of study is designed to provide fundamental and theoretical knowledge as well as the practical skills necessary to assume the role of a Health Fitness Professional in commercial and clinical settings. The program has an emphasis on exercise physiology and health and integrates current research with fundamental theories of learning and basic clinical skills.
