Abstract
This course introduces experienced participants (3-5 years industry experience or permission of the instructor) to the knowledge and skills needed for more advanced level positions in the machining industry. The course was designed by machinists and machine shop owners and managers and will provide the skills necessary to gain employment or provide future career success. The class introduces the concept of lean manufacturing. Then the student will learn to program CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam followed by hands-on integration of the CAD/CAM skill with CNC set up and operation.
