Abstract
This course cartridge contains materials that may be used in an online format to review for PMMI's (The Association for Packaging Processing Technologies) Industrial Electricity I Certificate which is part of PMMI's Mechatronics Program Certification. This certificate covers basic safety practices for voltages up to 600 volts and knowledge of voltage, current and power in AC and DC circuits, circuit analysis of series and parallel loads, and basic understanding of resistors, capacitors, and inductors. It applies these fundamentals to simple applications that would be found in residential, light commercial and simple industrial use. This is a review course and it is assumed the student has taken previous automation courses or has basic knowledge of the topics to be covered. Upon completion of this course, students may be prepared to take PMMI's Industrial Electricity I test. Materials include the course outline with outcomes, study guide units, and practice exercises.
