Abstract
The purpose of this multiple choice quiz is to orient, quiz, and assess the student’s general knowledge of the operation, part identification, safety, materials handling, etc of the surface grinder machine. These questions have been converted for use outside Second Life. Second Life is an online virtual world, developed by Linden Lab. The virtual world can be accessed freely via Linden Lab's own client programs, or via alternative Third Party Viewers. Second Life was chosen for this project because it allows students access to the Project IMPACT "island" or virtual land to participate in activities that align with their classes. Examples of these activities include exploring potential jobs in related careers, interactive quizzes, lectures, workshops, study groups, and more.
