Human factors and ergonomics address how humans interact with systems. Systems designed using human factors are efficient, safe, and effective. The field of health information technology can benefit greatly from the integration of human factors in the systems design process You will be learning about usability and HIT systems, usability of health information systems, human factors, usability and ergonomics, consequences of excessive mental workload, systems-centered approach to error prevention, strategies to prevent usability problems, medical devices and human factors analysis and usability of electronic health record systems.
