Abstract

Funded by a US Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges grant, the Michigan Coalition for Accelerated Healthcare Pathways was designed to increase the capacity and responsiveness of Michigan community colleges in providing a pipeline of skilled workers to address the needs of employers in the healthcare industry. New and expanded online and hybrid programming and targeted strategies enabled participants to upskill at an accelerated pace. The coalition included five Michigan community colleges, the Michigan Community College Association, four workforce development system partners, a healthcare industry council, seven healthcare employers, and a workforce intermediary. The coalition scaled accelerated online pathways and broadened curriculum access, making programming available to additional colleges through Michigan Workforce Training and Education Collaborative (MWTEC). Additionally, essential student services were transitioned to a virtual format. These materials are the invasive cardiovascular technology curriculum.
