Abstract

This class meets once a week for 2 hours. Lecture and demonstration is generally 20 mins, the remainder of the class period is used for students to develop their sense of feel for precision measurement tools. This course is a one semester course designated to teach the learner proper care and use of basic hand tools, measuring instruments and safety procedures. Basic operational procedures on drill presses, power saws, lathes and mills are covered. Primary focus on reading precision measuring instruments and benchwork (layout).
