Abstract
The University of Washington's Information School developed a new public interest technology clinic. Over the course of the grant funding we completed the following work: - Developed and delivered a virtual course for UW students focused on public interest technology projects (31 students enrolled) - Matched 12 students with 3 different community-based organizations to complete paid-internship projects; mentored another 11 students on applied research projects - Mentored four clinic "fellows" - Two PhD students and two Postbaccalaureate students that each completed high-impact applied research projects - Developed an open-education coursebook that focuses on applied machine learning for public technologists
