Abstract

Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) are typically integrated mechanisms within an EHR that prompt a provider to make decisions based on evidence/research. These systems often work in tandem with Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) systems, to improve patient outcomes, safety and to keep providers up to date on best practices. The following learning activities, assessments, and resources provide students in healthcare professions with context and an understanding of how CDSS will impact their practice.
