The Connecticut Health & Life Sciences TAACCCT consortium engaged statewide and local employers to help shape and implement this grant. This included a review of proposed curricula and recommendations for program structure that reflects the Healthcare and Science sectors in the State of Connecticut. The consortium also engaged advisory boards at each member college to solicit input and recommendations for this initiative.

Abstract

This program prepares students for employment in the fitness industry in settings such as health clubs, gyms, YMCAs and corporate wellness programs. Graduates may also pursue self-employment careers such as personal trainer or sales and marketing of health and nutrition programs and fitness equipment.
