"This learning object covers the Axial portion of the human skeleton. Topics include 1) functions of the skeletal system and its two major subdivisions, 2) the bones and bony structures of the skull, the cranial suture lines, the cranial fossae, and the major openings in the skull, 3) the vertebral column and curvatures, 4) the thoracic cage, and 5) embryonic development of the axial skeleton. This module also includes labeling exercises, teaching videos, and self-assessment quizzes.
