Abstract
CIS 1107 - Introduction to Operating Systems is a core course for the various program tracks in the CIS department at Sinclair Community College. Core course means it is required for many of the program degrees in the CIS department.
This course covers three operating systems (OS), and three environments: Windows Command-Line (which has its roots in an OS called DOS), Windows, and Linux.
Computers and technology are obviously everywhere today, and this course is designed to be an excellent start in your journey of discovery into this arena. All vocations and recreations use computers, and the more you know about these important tools, devices, and environments the more they will help you in your life in a myriad of ways.
The syllabus is included in the course and contains the course objectives, student learning outcomes, list of assignments and names of the course textbooks.
