Abstract
Hyrbid course curriculum material for the first half (4 credit hours) of a Certificate of Competence in GIS in Ecosystem Management. Course material includes online modules to take the place of lectures, weekly labs and assignments, grading rubrics, details on 3 field trips for hands-on practice with GPS units, a group final project using ESRI's Story Maps, and a weekly Workflow for students and instructors. Course provides ecological focus in the datasets and leads students towards spatial reasoning and analysis. Use as pre-requisite for GIS 180: GIS in Ecosystem Management.
