Abstract
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the basic theories of hydraulics (pressure, flow, force, inertia, torque, and work are some of the hydraulic principals covered). Hydraulic components, graphic symbols, hydraulic oils and filtration will also be integrated into this course. DESL 1850 Mobile Hydraulic Technology is a required course to obtain an Associates of Applied Science Degree or Certificate of Completion in Diesel Technology. This class meets twice a week, 6 hours a day for 8 weeks. This is a 4 credit class that spends 2 hours in a classroom and 4 hours in the lab doing hands on troubleshooting. Homework is assigned before classes and materials are designed to help the student understand the subject matter of that particular class.
