Abstract

The associate in science degree program in Engineering Science: Technology Option Program introduces students to the principles, analysis and equipment of engineering. The program was designed to serve two purposes for the student. The first objective is occupational-based, in which the curriculum prepares graduates to work as technicians, engineering assistants, test equipment specialists, prototype fabricators as well as other positions sought after by engineering companies specializing in design, development, manufacturing and service. Second, the program is designed to maximize transferability to a four year engineering technology institute preparing students to continue on with their studies to achieve a four year degree. In addition, the program emphasizes engineering fundamentals through “hands on” curriculum, including 2D & 3D modeling, software simulation and lab experiments. A minimum of 70 credits are required for the Electronic Technology Concentration at graduation. A minimum of 64 credit hours are required for the Mechanical Technology Concentration at graduation.
