Students will obtain a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice and be skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, and package, prepare, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Program graduates will be eligible to take the Virginia Pharmacy Technician Exam and the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination. All course outlines for the program are included.Item Nurse Aide Career Studies Certificate Program(Virginia Community College System, 2014)The Nurse Aide Career Studies Certificate program is designed to provide skills and knowledge to prepare the student to take the certification test to become a certified Nurse Aide in Virginia. Upon completion of this curriculum and certification by the Virginia Board of Nursing, individuals will be eligible for employment in a variety of health care settings. All course outlines for the program are included.Item Medical Records Technician Career Studies Certificate Program(Virginia Community College System, 2014)The Medical Records Technician Career Studies Certificate program will prepare students to create and maintain electronic medical records that will track immunizations, prescription medications, test results and other medical information. This CSC could work in correlation with the Health Information Management certificate or the Administrative Support Technology – Medical Office Specialist (AAS). All course outlines for the program are included.Item Medical Coding Hospital Career Studies Certificate(Virginia Community College System, 2014)The Medical Coding Hospital Career Studies Certificate program provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills in health records, medical coding, and reimbursement processes. The program’s primary focus is on ICD-9/10 coding for hospital applications and preparation for the Certified Coding Associate and/or Certified Coding Specialist exams. All course outlines for the program are included.
